Write On Point - here's the (nib) of it.

Posted by Andrew on Jun 11 2019

This writing instrument is one of the finest metal bodied examples I have yet to encounter. Purchased from Jim Evers, (& with whom I had the pleasure of speaking to in a telephone conversation prior to buying).
This is a sleek, well machined pen, with a 1.1mm stub (Jowo) steel nib, & writes buttery smooth; the cartridge/converter is System International, so 'filling up' is not going to be an issue, anywhere.
Externally, the lavish attention to detail - in representing the cowl & body of this much vaunted WWII aircraft - is superlative. Nothing, seemingly, has been omitted, so there's no mistaking the facsimile of what this fountain pen engenders, historically. This is a screw-top cap.
As to whether you are a vintage plane buff, or enthuse about militaria of a bygone era, this (I consider) would be a fitting addition to your pen collection.
Admittedly, this is my first Retro 51 Tornado brand pen - & on this first impression - shall not be my last. It's solidly constructed, ergonomic in the hand, with a long section; being all metal, it does have some heft to it, but not unnecessarily weighty (33g with a full converter). Posting is secure, & the body itself, slim, yet not skinny; the clip is indeed, retro, with a knurled cap top: overall, there's a tendency toward an industrial look - but with definite personality written (sic) all over it.
In summary, there's nothing that I do not like about this delightful scribe.
Footnote: Jim also sells extra Jowo nibs, should you wish to interchange (your) initial selection of width; thoroughly accommodating in all my enquiries in regard to this item - grateful thanks !!
