    Deserves more recognition

Great fountain pen with smooth extra fine nib. I hope that they continue creating more pens like this and also bring back some older models like the Coronado in new acrylics.

    Nice, solid pen

I bought a dark blue Magellan with an italic 1.1mm nib. The pen is large, a little longer and heavier than a Parker Duofold Centennial, and with about the same feel. The stainless steel, two color nib is elegant, well made and runs pretty wet, which is how I like my pens. The nib was a little scratchy at first, but a little polish with a ceramic knife sharpener solved this issue. This nib is not as smooth as my 1940's gold Duofold italic nibs, but is better than others I've had.

    good value, beautiful pen

This is my second Rosetta Magellan fountain pen. I'm always looking for pens that come with factory stub italic nibs. Now that gold nibs have become so costly (especially stub/italic) , I'm exploring more economical steel nib pens. This pen has a very nice, very dark blue body and the finish is high quality. It's a handsome pen. The cap screws on tightly so I'm not anticipating any drying-out problems. The ink flow is good - medium, not too dry, not too wet. The reason I rated this pen with 4 stars instead of 5 is the stub italic nib. It produces a very nice line and needs no pressure at all for ink flow. However I wouldn't call this nib "butter smooth." It's not scratchy, but you'll feel some feedback. I did notice that after writing about 4 pages, the nib already felt smoother, so maybe it just needs a bit of "breaking in. " I was comparing the smoothness of the Rosetta nib to very high end gold nib pens, which isn't really fair. If you're used to the flex of gold nib pens, you'll notice the stiffness of this steel nib. For the price, the appearance, the availability of the stub italic nib, and for the trouble-free ink flow, I'm very happy with my purchase & would definitely consider purchasing another Rosetta Magellan. Great service from ipenstore!
